Stephen Raff is an Australian success story. Stephen is the CEO and founder of Ace Body Corporate Management, which is now an international body corporate management company based in Melbourne. However, his success has come with a journey of trials, tribulations, and life lessons.
Stephen was born on August 7, 1955, in Morwell. His father was an Anglican Priest, but amid this tranquil religious environment, Stephen very quickly became the black sheep trader of the family. The youngest of three boys, by 11, he was selling fish to his school teachers and his father’s parishioners. At 14, he was buying and selling antiques. At 20, he bought his first house, and at 21, his second house. He left school in Year 10 to work as a farm hand, learnt farm management in NZ, and then returned to Australia to graduate Year 12 and work in fishing gear sales. It was then that Stephen realised his career path.
Stephen worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years to become National Sales Manager and National Training Manager and obtain several certificates in the medical and business field. It was not until becoming a committee member of his body corporate that he found a new career path and soon started his own practice as a strata manager.
Today, Stephen is an Australian success story as owner of one of the largest strata management firms in Australia that is poised for international expansion as well as being an industry peer. Stephen has been involved in the education subcommittee of Owners Corporations Victoria for the past 13 years. He has written various articles on body corporate management in newspapers and magazines in Australia and internationally.
His personal qualifications are outstanding. Stephen has a certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, is a qualified Surveyor for Retirement Villages, a Mediator and he holds a master’s degree in management among a number of other qualifications including Certified Practicing Strata Manager. He is the author of The Body corporate Handbook. A Guide to Buying, Owning, and Living in a Body Corporate or Owners Corporation in Australia, he co-authored the bestselling book, Top Franchise CEOs’ Secrets Revealed, and has also authored a book called, 0 – 52 Secrets Revealed and Lessons Learnt.
